COLORS , PRIMARY COLORS: REDS< BLUES < YELLOWS Also: Cadmiums in Oranges or Yellows, Browns, Whites and Neutral Green, We'll mix many colors from these,

Any other colors you have ,bring them along to class! There are so many extra variation of colors on the market, but you do not need to purchase them all as we'll be mixing from the Primary Colors

HERE'S A BASIC LIST FOR YOU FOR SUGGESTIONS:

Alizarin Crimson Red, * Rose *Ultramarine blue (warm blue )• Cobalt blue(good base blue) • LemonYellow • Cadmium Orange or Cad Yellows * Green *Burnt Sienna or Raw Umber brown • Yellow Ochre• * Payne's Gray , White

I like using the basic Primary colors and then mix Secondary colors, and Tertiary hues and we'll learn to develop cool and warm colors from these creating a chart for reference for future paintings.

PAINTS MAY BE BOUGHT IN SINGLE TUBES OR AS A SMALL SET

Supply List for Regular Oil Paints

• Traditional oil paints (variety of colors), such as these brands: Winsor & Newton, Gamblin, Rembrandt, or Old Holland
• Oil painting brushes (hog bristle or synthetic brushes of various sizes
• Palette for mixing (wood, glass, or acrylic)
• Palette knives (one or 2)
• Canvas or primed panels. Canvas may be stretched, In canvas pads, or panels and your choice of sizes although 9 x 12 is an average size. Canvas pads are great for practicing Color charts.
• Linseed oil or other painting mediums
• Turpentine or odorless mineral spirits (for cleaning and thinning)

• Oil painting brushes of various sizes (hog bristle or synthetic; can use same brushes as regular oils)
• Palette (wood, glass, or acrylic)
• Palette knives (1 0r 2)
• Canvas or primed panels. Canvas may be stretched, In canvas pads, or panels and your choice of sizes although 9 x 12 is an average size. Canvas pads are great for practicing Color charts.
• Water (for cleaning brushes and thinning paint)
• Special mediums for water soluble oils (if desired) or water can be used.
